Fillers are a gel-like substance containing hyaluronic acid, the Filler is injected beneath the skin for aesthetic purposes such as: restoring lost volume, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, and enhancing your natural features and improving the appearance of scars. Many areas can be treated with filler such as, lips, cheeks, tear troughs, nose, chin, and more.

How long do my results last? The effects of filler can be long lasting, but not permanent. They can last anywhere from 6 months-2 years. This is all depending on factors such as the age of the patients type of filler that was used, and lifestyle. Some people can metabolize the filler quicker than others. We want to ensure that you come in for a follow up after 2 weeks so our dr. Can make sure everything is settling in correctly and you are happy with your results.

Does it hurt? How does it feel? A topical numbing cream can be applied to the area being treated before the injection provide a more comfortable experience. 

Is there downtime? When will I see results? There is essentially no downtime with filler injections. You can expect to experience swelling, tenderness, and even bruising in the area injected. These are all common and normal side effects after having filler, even looking uneven or lumpy can happen while you are healing.

The best thing you can do after a filler injection is staying hydrated, refraining from alcohol or blood thinner medication as this can result in a bruise or more swelling, and do not apply makeup onto the area for at least 24 hours. Refrain from strenuous excersise, saunas, and hot tubs for 24 hours as well. Applying ice will help with the swelling. 

You will notice the results right away, however it will not fully settle in how its meant to until the 2 week post injection period. We encourage you to come in for a 2 week follow up, and Dr. Scudamore can make any adjustments/touch ups if needed.
