Temple Fillers

Fillers that you normally see on social media are lips and cheeks. But what about other areas? I’m here to educate you on why we love temple filler! The temple area is based on the parietal, frontal, sphenoid, and temporal bones. It is a region where the hairline of the temporal region connects to the periorbital bony areas. A smooth transition in this region would address volume loss, aging and would be good for achieving the desirable oval shaped face.

As a normal part of aging, the subcutaneous tissues, fat pads or temporalis muscle atrophies. This can result in a “peanut”- shaped face which can be treated with dermal fillers! In some cases, this treatment can also treat a sagging eyebrow tail! Keep in mind that for men and women, the desired brow shape and cheek shape are different but in both cases, upper face rejuvenation with temple filler can restore or preserve a youthful look by providing temporal “lifting”. In addition to fillers, PLLA such as Sculptra can be used to treat this region.

For this region, it is imperative that you choose the best injector. The structures around the temple filler region include the superficial temporal artery and the zygomatico-orbital artery supplied by the external carotid artery. These are danger zones which requires correct landmarking, injection depth and use of needle or cannula. The down time is minimal and immediate results can be seen on the day of the procedure.
